One of the latest addition to Singapore’s Shabu Shabu & Sukiyaki scene.
Sakurazaka’s 2 person for pork set [S$95++], seafood [S$108++], beef set [S$128] or sukiyaki beef set [S$150++].
To kick off the sukiyaki meal, you are served two slices scallop and prawn to be cooked at the table on a hot stone. There after, staff at Sakurazaka would prepare the sukiyaki in a hotpot with sweet broth; unlike other restaurants the ones here use minimal thick sweet sauce in a shallow pot. They are more traditional with the method used as compared to other restaurants in Singapore. Though, the sauce that was used can be improved with a little water being added. It tasted more salty than it was sweet which really shouldn’t be the case with sukiyaki sauce.
Japanese wagyu-holstein F1 crossbreed (grade BMS 3-4) were used in the sukiyaki set, with 2 cuts of striploin 150g & ribeye 150g. These portions were a tad small for big eaters, we had to add an additional portion.
Despite being early for my reservation at 8pm, we had to wait 20mins for our table. I’ll recommend going early to avoid the crowds.

Will I Return O-Meter : Maybe just to try the Shabu Shabu set, most diners there had that and seemed to enjoy their meal.
