Tokyo Italian : Terra

Chef-Owner Seita Nakahara, whose cuisine is influenced by the four seasons of Japan.Chef Seita’s signature Omakase, a degustation menu of his own creations, which changes weekly and according to the seasonal ingredients available. The Omakase course for dinner starts at S$128, S$168, S$208 with the key difference being that the most expensive course uses more quality ingredients. It is a requirement that everyone in your party orders the same Omakase course. We decided to go with the S$208 as it supposedly includes a lobster in one of the courses.

The meal ended up with 6 courses, with 2 dishes of pasta and no lobster as the maître d somehow got confused with what we wanted. For the price paid, the amount of food served, service shown, I was rather disappointed as this place came highly recommended by a fellow foodie.
Avg cost with a bottle of wine (and no lobster) : S$290

Freshest ingredients of the day.
Italian bread with mushroom butter. We had to request for a basket of bread.
Baked scallop from Salfutu with Japanese mushroom in tomato based sauce. The scallop was unfortunately overdone and made it chewy.
One of the signature dishes on the menu is the Sea Urchin Bruschetta which is the best course of the night. A little pricey if you are going to order it on its own, set you back around S$40 a pop.
Abalone spaghetti pasta in non spicy curry like sauce which was a tad bland.
Sea urchin spaghetti with yuzu and bottarga. Another one of their signature dishes, which I thought more sea urchin should be used. Also, why would any decent Italian restaurant serve you two exact pasta in a row?!
Chargrilled Tajima Wagyu Beef which was rich in flavour and melt in the mouth texture. Why is the size so tiny for this course [ Screaming in my head]
A birthday surprise courtesy of my companions, but of all the people in my party, the waitress actually had to ask me (the birthday person) whose birthday it was.

Will I Return O-Meter : No, I was very unsatisfied after my meal and swear never to return. However, the following day the host of our party received a phone call from the restaurant expressing their sincerest apologies for mixing up our order. So kuddos for service recovery. This places deserves a second chance, but maybe no more S$208 omakase.
