Quality Fish & Chips in Singapore : Breadstreet Kitchen

A two-course set lunch at Bread Street Kitchen will set you back S$40, and three-course S$48. For the starters & main you will get a choice of 3 each. For starters, the smoked haddock, onion soup and potted ham hock. As for the mains, shepard’s pie, butternut squash risotto and a seared salmon. As for the last course, which is the dessert, you get a choice of chocolate caramel mousse, passionfruit parfait or selection of British cheese. If you ask me, the lunch set seems pretty reasonably, considering you get to dine by the bay with a beautiful view of Singapore’s skyline.

It wasn’t mentioned in the menu and I failed to ask the waitress if the shepard’s pie was beef or lamb based. Unfortunately, that’s the one meat I do not know how to appreciate. The waitress asked if the dish was ok when she was clearing the table, and I mentioned that I don’t take lamb. They removed the dish off my bill and charged me individually for my other items (in this case it was the onion soup). So in terms of service, thumbs up!

Cider-onion Soup, Cheddar Cheese toastie – This was yummy, and need I mention ? The bread basket..I finished everything!
Shepard’s Pie, onion, carrots, potato puree, garlic brioche crumbs – Didn’t get to enjoy it as it was made of lamb meat 😦

Traditional Fish & Chips, crushed peas & Tartare sauce [S$28] – Oh yes, quality fish meat (not frozen ahem) and crunchy beer battered fish. Tho, not a fan of the potato wedges and crushed peas.
Will I Return O-Meter : Yes.
